FR - Depuis leur premier album, en 2005, on croyait qu'ils prenaient un malin plaisir à chanter en espagnol... C'était en mexicain ! L'équipage d'Aerôflôt a refait le plein de kérosène, juste le temps de disparaître des écrans radar et de poser la carlingue de leur Tupolev à pistons là où les attendait les moins : sur une piste d'atterrissage entre jungle et montagne, sur le terrain-même où sont annoncés les prémices de la fin du monde imminente. C'est en pleine crise spirituelle que l'on retrouve ces garçons, orchestre de mariachis électro-amplifiés donnant un concert pour la Fête des Morts, directement installés sur un autel à la gloire de Santa Muerte, la diabolique déesse vénérée par les illuminés épileptiques, les mystiques suicidaires, et toute une horde de différents marginaux sociaux. On ne peut pas dire que ça aille beaucoup mieux du côté de leur stabilité psychologique, entre hallucinations mystiques (« God Is Satan »), rites vaudous musicaux (« Dance Of The Dead »), profanations nocturnes (« Dark Motion ») et appels au secours désespérés (« Me Siento Mal »). Les alcools frelatés et les fumées cérémonielles n'ont sans doute rien arrangé. Pétrifiés d'angoisse, ces Conquistadores d'un Eldorado en cendres ont quelque peu ralenti le tempo, pour mieux se tourner vers les cieux et y adresser leurs lamentations gorgées de réverbérations et d'échos psychédéliques. Techniquement enregistré aux studios Amanita par Stephan Krieger, et mixé par Cyrille Gachet (Year Of No Light), « Santa Muerte » d'Aerôflôt est assurément leur album le plus commercial. Au sens du « commerce avec le diable », bien entendu.
ENG - Aerôflôt are brats : they borrow but never give back. They damage, they twist and turn, they dismantle and then make their own stuff… Mixing the early Horst Tapper’s “Derrick” gloomy aesthetics with the fierce urgency of the Modern lovers and the Stranglers, their epileptic post-punk rips Devo’s sexy outfits with Black Sabbaths fingers-cutting riffs and a touch of the ESG sisters’ funky mood. Call this whatever you want : retrofuturistic cubist kitsch ? After their Que te Den LP and disco negro, a split EP and many, many non-sensical noises with other bands (Calc, Déjà Mort, Year of no light…), here comes their new album santa muerte, recorded at the Amanita studios by Stephan Krieger and mixed by Cyrille Gachet ( years of no light , Crane angels). No more chuckles. Or maybe they are laughing like crazy. Who knows ?
Get used to these songs before they get punched in your face by the band, directly from the stage, red and square like some weird Rothko exhibition.
Flying with the Aerôflôt team is like sharing a bottle of vodka with a drunken russian pilot in his very own cockpit : statistics show that you might reach your destination safely, but you’d better be prepared for severe turbulence.

FR - Automne 2002, le hardcore chaotique entame une vie posthume à mesure que les grands des années 90 nous quittent. Dans le sud de la France, à Sète, STUNTMAN concrétise l'histoire musicale de chacun de ses quatre musiciens, prend le relai d'un son supposé enterré. Noise, hardcore, metal. Kiss It Goodbye, Botch, Rorschach, Breach, Jesuit ou Siege, autant de références affirmés, d'influences respectées, d'histoires personnelles à combiner, retravailler et exploiter pour créer Stuntman. Depuis près de douze années, malgré de nombreuses modifications de line-up, Stuntman continue à évoluer, à faire de sa hargne, de son énergie, un tremplin pour chacune de ses productions - deux albums, un EP, deux splits, une douzaine de compilations. Près de 150 concerts plus tard, 5 tournées européennes comprises, des dates avec Coalesce, Genghis Tron, Mumakil, Kongh ou encore Jucifer, The Target Parade figure le renouveau. Nous étions en 2011, l'étape des dix ans approche, Stuntman s'est définitivement solidifié. ENG - Autumn 2002, 'chaotic noise hardcore' is giving its quit due to its Legends' ends. At Sète, in south of France, STUNTMAN concrete his musical past with his 4 members and gives a rebirth of this defunct kind. The combo, with his many line up changes, delivers their energy and hatred on a considerable discography (two albums, an EP, a split and a dozen compilations appearances) also on more than 150 shows and more than 5 tours in Europe; some with bands like Coalesce, Russian Circles, Jucifer, Genghis Tron, Child Abuse, Kongh or Mumakil. Their new album "Incorporate The Excess" will be released on three different labels on CD, LP and tape on January 2014.

Sludge Hardcore – Montpellier, FR
FR - Les montpelliérains de VERDUN sont l’un de ces groupes plus difficiles à étiqueter qu’il n’y paraît, brouillant les pistes entre sludge/doom et hardcore lancinant. Un EP 3 titres et quelques tournées européennes leur ont suffis à se forger une réputation scénique redoutable et à se faire un nom dans le milieu des musiques lourdes. Riffs aussi mastocs qu’arides, groove brise-nuque, gueulantes incantatoires et avec une bonne plâtrée de psychédélisme en bonus, voilà à quoi s’attendre durant les 55 minutes de « The Eternal Drift’s Canticles », leur premier album mixé et masterisé à Seattle par la légende du grunge Tad Doyle (TAD, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, Yob, Lumbar, Zeke etc.). Cet album est le fruit de trois années de façonnage durant lesquelles le groupe est parvenu à créer des morceaux mémorables par sa science du riff accrocheur et de l’ambiance apocalyptique. Une autre composante importante de leur formule est ce chant charismatique, passant de cris emplis d’échos se perdant dans l’espace, aux spoken words ou au chant plaintif. VERDUN assurément un groupe à suivre pour tout fan de Burning Witch, Electric Wizard, ou Amenra; et par extension de tout ce qui se fait de sale et pesant.
ENG - Arisen in 2010 from the fertile scene of Montpellier, France, VERDUN made a name in the realm of slow and heavy music on the basis of a simple three-tracks demo, leaving a strong impression on every witness of the band’s thunderous live shows. Cette sensation qui ceinture tous les muscles du corps, comprime la respiration et mélange passé, présent et futur dans un énorme bol de bordel à ras bord de larsens."
C’est par ces mots que Discordance décrivait il y a peu le noise rock ludique, naif et abrasif de Don Vito, trio de Leipzig (Allemagne). ‘Comment Ca Va Light My Fire’ est leur cinquième album, actuellement disponible sur les concerts du groupe, et début octobre 2015 via le label Head Records
ENG - The band’s description of their music “hyper kinetic instrumental noise tohubohu” couldn’t be any more accurate. The moment Don Vito let a bit of chaos out of the sack all appendages within hearing distance begin to fidget hysterically. It is like being hit with the spray from a machine gun. Welcome the apocalypse of rock smiling at you from three lunatics who appear to thrash at their instruments more than to play them. But somehow they never loose continuity in this chaos of interwoven high speed-grooves. I have tried in vain to count the number of different rhythms they hit you with in their minute-long songs. An indistinguishable mass of tact changes that keep in time despite wild anarchy. Just when you find yourself head-banging to some stomping beat and your ear plugs fall out of your ears (wait a minute… what ear plugs?) the drummer switches into some other thundering groove or blast beat all wrapped up in lightning and hail! It sends you flying and when you wake up, you are laying in a corner somewhere on the other side of the room. Amongst the bedlam, there comes an occasional nanosecond break in the music, which they fill with screams, grunts, and shrieks. Before you know it 45 seconds have gone by and you find yourself panting for the next song. These are three people who will never have to worry about being overweight. They give off so much energy and sweat it would be dangerous to have them play anywhere near the polar ice caps. This band IS a weapon! It is clearly evident that they cannot possibly play 3-hour concerts at such a high level of energy. But it is always sad when the concert ends. It leaves you wanting more, more, and more! Not to fear however, the band is touring extensively and you will certainly be able to catch them in your area soon. Let the tohubohu perforate your brain! Don Vito does not need to follow the rules; the rules have learned to follow Don Vito. Remarkably, they are free from genre and categorization. They have delightfully blended post-puberty carelessness with just a touch of self-irony. From now on, you will no longer have to think of that brainless wanker from Jackass when you hear the name Don Vito, but rather of that kick-ass band from the bowels of Germany.

ENG - Mombu is a project of Luca T. Mai (Zu) and Antonio Zitarelli (Neo/Surgical Beat Bros). They create a new musical sound alchemy mixing african rhythms, jazz, hardcore and metal. They released three albums on Subsound Records: Mombu (2011), Zombi (2012) and Niger (2013). Mombu collaborated with Mike Watt (Minuteman / Iggy Pop & The Stooges), Mbar Ndiaye (Griot of Senegal), Sena M’baye (Griot of Senegal), Giulio The Bastard (Cripple Bastards), S. Husky Höskulds (Sound Engineer), James Plotkin (Producer) and much more. On February 2015 they will release a new project with Oddateee, a cool American artist, produced by Subsound Records and they’re working on new album too. Mombu also have a project called “Improbabile”, a workshop on radical improvisation.

FR - Montpellier, début 2013. Quatre solides membres de la scène locale (Payday, Lahius, Phalanges Metaliques...) se rapprochent pour former un nouveau groupe. La ligne directrice est simple; un Hardcore/Thrash Metal évoquant l'intensité de Slayer, en assaisonnant l'ensemble du groove des Melvins. Les premiers concerts arrivent rapidement, avec les premières parties de Jucifer et Mudweiser. L'incontournable démo est enregistrée durant l'été 2013, et le groupe en profite pour se faire connaître en tournant principalement dans le sud de la France. Everblast est un groupe à l'état d'esprit positif, guidé par sa musique brutale aux accents obscurs. En dépassant les académismes d'un Thrash Metal classique, Everblast explore ses vastes influences, creuse ses compositions, et impose son énergie. En octobre 2014, le groupe s'installe au Subsonic à Montpellier et y enregistre ses douze premiers titres. Les mois suivants, entre concerts et nouveaux morceaux, Everblast peaufine son album éponyme pour la rentrée 2015.
ENG - Montpellier (France), early 2013. Four props of the local scene (Payday, Lahius, Phalanges Metalliques…) come closer to form a new band. The guideline is clear: making a crossover between Hardcore and Thrash metal to raise the intensity of Slayer while infecting the groove of the Melvins. With a first demo recorded during the summer of 2013, the band is able to open for Jucifer or Mudweiser, and stick in people’s minds. EVERBLAST carry a positive state of mind while making a brutal and dark music. Overtaking the academism of classical Thrash Metal, the band explore a wide range of influences, deepen their writing, and impress by its energy. Their first full-length is released on Head Records in Fall 2015, a 12 tracks album recorded at the Subsonic.

FR - Le trio instrumental basse, batterie, saxophone explore la noirceur d’un jazz tous azimuts à la John Zorn, décompose les rythmiques noises à la Shellac et nous offre une suite logique à Nerf déjà sorti sur Head Records et Rude Awakening. Les Yeux de la Tête las d’être comparé aux Autres (comme on les appelle entre nous), s’appelle désormais Mosca Violenta, comme le nom de leur dernier album.
Lors d'un tournée ils rencontrent Mombu. De cette encontre est née l’envie de faire un disque collaboratif : deux saxophones, deux batteries, une basse, pour un résultat totalement instrumental qui racle, qui s’énerve, qui va chercher dans le noise rock et le jazz, le jazz, qui fouille dans les racines de la musique jusqu’à la trance africaine et la bestialité primaire d’un désenvoutement : "Hunting Demons".
ENG - This instrumental trio bass, drums and sax explores the darkness of an explosive Jazz, mixing the craziness of John Zorn to the noisy rhythms of Shellac. After releasing two albums under the name of Les Yeux de La Tête, they change their moniker to "Mosca Violenta" like the title of their second record.
One day on tour they shared the stage with the italian band Mombu, from this meeting they both decided to make an album together : two saxophones, two drums and one bass to give birth to "Hunting Demons", a completly instrumental record which mix noise rock and a wild jazz with its roots deeply buried into its african heritage, like a voodoo ritual!

FR - H.O.Z. est un trio basse, guitare, batterie formé en 2001 à Dunkerque. Le groupe sort là son troisième album. Après avoir navigué dans le noyau du math core et du hard core, H.O.Z. revient à un son plus brut, plus simple et se rapproche de la scène punk rock avec des refrains entêtant et des mélodies accrocheuses, un regard frais sur la scène hardcore, un souffle nouveau sur le punk rock français.
ENG - H.O.Z. is a power trio based in Dunkerque (France). Since 2001 the band has released three albums, moving from the math-core / hardcore mix of the beginning to something more raw and simple on their last record “Band Of Brothers”. The record released on Head Records in 2014, assume a strong punk rock influence, adding catchy chorus and powerful melodies to their signature songs. H.O.Z. gives a breath of fresh air on the hardcore scene and a new impetus to the French punk rock movement.

Le groupe se forge un set live consistant en partageant la scène avec Karma To Burn, Jucifer, The Datsuns, Shields Your Eyes… 2014, avec le soutient de Head Records et Gabu Records, deux titres aux mélodies plus riches et structures mieux travaillées sortent sur un split vinyle avec ÖfÖ Am. 2015, nouveau bassiste (Nir de Burne, Feral, Stuntman), Lahius sort en digital deux titres plus incisifs et se constitue un set live plus intense et puissant, un album aux relents sludge/hardcore est en prévision pour 2016.
